The McNay Art Museum was Texas’s first modern art gallery, now occupying 23 acres, with an impressive collection of work by artists such as Vincent Van Gogh, Paul Cezanne, and Edward Hopper, as well as work by contemporary American and European artists. The museum’s grounds, located several miles north of downtown San Antonio, are famous for their beauty and include picnicking spots for visitors.
